Would you recommend me to Jailbreak my Ipod touch 4g and does it void the warranty?

I recently brought an Ipod touch 4g, my friends have got older models of the ipod touch and they have jail broken it, they've told me its a great experience. Now I'm not sure weather I should do it or not, Please Help
