Would you read a book about...?

Okay, this is going to sound really weird and trippy, but don't take it at face value. You have to read into the symbolism and what the story actually means. This would be a humorously written, yet dark comedy.

Let's say there's a guy named Eli who lives a typical, simple human life and is very content with going to work in the morning, and doing all sorts of normal stuff and is a happy, yet pitiable man. He then gets abducted one night by an alien who calls himself Methusulah (according to the bible, Methusulah was the longest ever living man) and tells Eli about his life which is kind of a "fall from grace."
You see, Methusulah was a big figure in his civilization (I'd like to liken him to Leonardo Da Vinci) who by far possessed the greatest and most visionary mind of his race. He was the ruler of his people and they prospered while he was in power and everything. So, in an attempt to make sure his civilization stayed prosperous forever, he discovered a way to make himself immortal. However, he decided it was wise not to give away the secret of immortality, so his people and governments and military turned on him, and now he is running from them.

It sounds crazy, but it'd be symbolic and all.
Most of the content of the story would revolve around Methusulah's history and not Eli.

If you've ever read Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, then you could probably get an idea about what it might be like.

Thanks
