Would you rather encounter a large predator animal or a human sociopath on a hiking...

...trail? The large predator animal would be either a mountain lion, or a black bear.
The human is a sociopath.
Which would you rather encounter on a hiking trail...and what is your reasoning behind that choice.
 
The animal. Because humans are capable of implementing sadistic torture. I'd rather die quickly.
 
My choice is the predator animal.

Reasoning - I may be able to throw my sandwhich at it, and stall for running time or give it something else than me to eat. They might get bored quicker too...

The reason I didn't go with Sociopath - is because they have a mental issue, meaning whatever is stuck in their head is their action - and I don't think throwing a sandwhich at a sociopath will knock the idea of harming me out of its mind.
 
animal. they can carry guns or rape me. or tie me down and torture me in a log cabin for years. lol
 
I think I would rather deal with a human. Although both would be frightening situations to find yourself in, an animal would be able to outrun me for sure and they are not as likely to cut your throat or go for the heart. I would rather take my chances with the human. There is still a small chance that you could still reason with the human as opposed to the animal who is just plain hungry.
