Would you pay for a new .sys AIM program?

I know a buddy that is a great coder and he might develop a AIM program for s60 phones depending on the response.

No guarantees that he is going to make this, but the question is Would you pay for a Native Symbian .sys program that connects to AIM/and does basic AIM Functions?

Maybe. If its as good as agile or better. Like being able to actually add buddies on AIM and reply to non-buddy msgs.

AIM used to have a S60 app a few years ago... don't think its been ported to 3rd edition though.

My understanding it that there is only IM+ and AgileMessenger, and I'm under the impression that NEITHER of those DIRECTLY connect to AIM servers, rather go through their own proxy (big thumbs down for me).

I'd pay for a direct connect AIM client, but S60 native, not java.

No, I wouldn't pay for it as I aleady have a free MSN Client and AIM isn't something I use regularly.

I wish Google would release a Gchat for S60V3 or even a java version
