Would you pass up a pre-2009 because it hasn't got the updated frame?

I ride an 08 RKC and recently bought the wife an 07 RKC. I could have kept her on her loaded up metric, she had no problem with that. So I thought about doing an "upgrade" for me to a new 10 model but love the way my 08 rides and instead upgraded her (got to stay in budget) to a sweet low mileage 07.

IMO the pre-09's are great running bikes. We stayed with 07 or 08 for her because of the 6-speed and stayed below 09 for the cost.

In the end it comes down to your financial comfort but in our case having to maintain two HD cruisers it was not worth the extra $$. We live in an area where you can go from wide open flat to major elevation changes and twisties pretty quickly. Not once have I said "let's not go there......not sure we can handle that road."
 
I've been looking to move up to a UC but want one in white. A few days ago I had asked about what I thought was a deal for an 08. The replys I received was to try an hold out for an 09 or later even if the exact color wasn't what I was looking for. Received similar responses from some guys in my local HOG chapter. Since I hate the black ice pearl that came with the white '10 UCs, I'm now looking for a good deal on the 09 white and pewter.
If you are unsure ask your dealership to try out a left over 10 or an 11. Dealerships around here will soon be holding their open house where you can try an 11. Just my 1cent.
 
i have an 08 sg and really don't feel the need for the new frame that came out in 09. the antique frame that my bike has, suits me just fine.
 
+1 on that. I love my old Softie but my new bike IS 22 years newer and definitely much improved. Then there's the step-up from a solid-mounted, not-quite-so-well-balanced EVO that is on it's second speedometer after 60,000 miles and well it's obvious that there is no comparison in the comfort dept.

I didn't seem to have any trouble in high-speed cornering with my Softie and I might have noticed a slight wobble in a long sweeper at about 85-90 mph on my new bike yesterday. Might have been the pavement..... Gotta remember to check air pressures I guess or maybe I should just slow down. I'm starting to ride this bike like I rode my Softie.
 
I have an 08 ultra and find it to handle great for a heavier touring bike. I've owned some pretty good handling bikes in the past and ride my ultra somewhat aggressively through the turns. I haven't had any issues at all with respect to how it goes down the road. To be fair, I have not ridden the upgraded framed bikes yet and I'm sure they are improved, but am very happy with this model year.
 
Very few riders would be able to tell the difference between rides because of a frame. The ones that could aren't sitting on their computer talking about it.
 
Oh wow. So if you know how to use the Inet you don't know shat about MC's? Talk about a leap in illogical thinking. After I put the Glide Pro front motor mount swingarm isolator kit on my '91 FLHS the difference is obvious when I shake the handlebars. With OEM rubber isolators the whole rear end would "waggle" and felt very mushy and the front wheel wouldn't move much at all. Now the front wheel moves and the rear end is a solid, one piece feel now. Oh, wait, I'm blogging so I shouldn't know the difference. Sorry.
