Would you ever wake up one day, and suddenly decide to cover your hair and/or your face?

If no, then why do you think Muslim women would just wake up out of the blue one morning and think, "Let me wear this piece of cloth over my head, maybe even over my face, because it makes me feel free." Or is it more likely, that they were conditioned and groomed for years and years, to wear the hijab? Or in the case where they cover their face (burqa or niqab), do you think that they say to themselves, "Let me cover my face with this, revealing only my eyes. I'll be so modest that everyone will stare at me, while simultaneously pretending that I don't exist. I'll pretend that I don't notice their body language or uncomfortable/hostile energy directed towards me. I'll pretend that I'm invincible. I'll look away when others look away at the same time, trying to avoid making eye contact with me. I will look very similar to other women who are dressed the same way, to the point where the authorities, banks, airports, etc question my identity for security reasons. I will feel free and empowered by all of this."

What on earth goes through the minds of people who support or are indifferent towards the niqab or burqa? Do they think that their stance on this issue is actually supportive towards these women? Do they think they are doing them a favor? Do they even know what they are talking about, when they harp on and on about "religious freedom"? (The burqa/niqab is as Islamic as honor killings or female genital mutilation is Islamic.) I think it's very selfish, to be fine with others living as second class citizens, just so you can be politically correct and feel good about yourself.
