Would you consider this weird?

I am writing a sci-fi novel and in it the main female psychic is somewhat of a nudist. Several parts of the book she is naked. However, she actually has REASONING for being a nudist: as a psychic she has an innate--almost intimate--bond to the Universe. Thus, since she came into the Universe naked she regards it as her purest form.

Further, she has no shame in her natural form (and since she is absolutely gorgeous has no need to be anyway) and seeing as she can manipulate the thoughts and emotions of those around her by them simply being in her presence, she DEFINITELY has nothing to be ashamed of.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Keep in mind the reality of that. Depending on your 'universe' she will be exposed constantly to sun rays and environmental poisons if they exist. Practical application such as her feet if she doesn't wear footwear will suffer callous etc. Also the skin itself might be leathery and tougher because it begins to protect itself against the elements. It is a slow but natural development in some cases. Clothing, at one time was used not just for modesty but to protect the less exposed and more delicate areas of our bodies.

--- If it isn't 'weird' on her planet or universe than it shouldn't be an issue for the reader as long as it is written well and convincingly.

Why would anyone with an ounce of intelligence be ashamed of being nude? Nothing weird in the though process at all.

I think that's a really cool idea. It all comes down to how you write these nude scenes. I'm can tell you're not doing this to be perverted so I think people will not find anything about your story to be gross or anything.
Good luck with your story!
