Would you consider the History Channel (or its website) reliable?

For information on stuff like 2012, cryptozoology, mythology, Halloween, and other things that people ask about here? The more I learn the more I question that channel.

No, absolutely NOT!! That channel ticks me off.

They present the whole 2012 thing in a way that makes it sound scientifically proven, when scientists keep trying to tell everyone that it is nonsense.

Their history of Halloween, especially on the website, is full of mistakes!

They have aired false information on Monsterquest.

And what makes it worse is that, at least in some instances I am aware of, they KNOW they are airing false information.

They care about ratings and profit and do not monitor what is produced. As long as it gets viewership then it gets on the air.

sort of. the history channel seems to be obsessed with Hitler and they seem to be a tiny bit racist to everyone who isnt English or American

The history channel shows a lot of good information, but it is presented by the movie and show makers, not necessarily by History channel. they have some real good shows and a lot of their documentaries show both sides of the coin.
