Would you consider Nascar a sport?

Every time I say I watch Nascar my friends say it is boring. THey say that it is just cars going around in circles. I know for a fact it is a competitive sport with teams. I believe it is a sport but my friends don't. How do I explain to my friends that Nascar is more exciting then it looks. I am a huge Nascar fan myself.

This probably isn't the best section to get an accurate reading of people's feelings about this question. And yes, of course it's a sport. Why wouldn't it be? Am I missing something?

I certainly do. But I have a very wise contact who says that it's a jelly doughnut. Who am I to argue with that? : )
