would you comment on my poetry skills?

I thought today was a very good day
I did everything to make it all go away
Suddenly tears fell and they didn't sway
That’s when I knew they would never last that way.

I often wonder if it’s true
As time goes by maybe it askew
Oh, just thinking about it made me feel so blue
Will they ever come through?

im new. this is only the beggining i have finished it yet. not sure of what to write.
