Would you by a 1999 Dodge Intrepid with the 2.7 engine?

Ok I'm looking at a 1999 Dodge Intrepid with the 2.7 liter engine that doesnt have the best reputation. Does anyone have this car that did not have any major problems with sludge or anything else. I really like the car but I don't want to make a dumb decision either. By the way it has 127xxx miles on it
