another Middle East Oil war?
GM volt has a range of 350 miles and the Leaf can be charged overnight and can go 100 miles. Most people do less than half that on a daily basis
You can now buy a secong hand g Whizz from Auto trader for £2,000 pay no road tax and no parking fees and fill it (charge it) for only £1.50 good for 80 miles!

I would never buy the GM volt. Sadly that's because it is American. Albeit I buy American products & like American products when it comes to cars the American designers fall short.

I personally have no problem with electric cars or better still, hybrids, I am just waiting for the point when it becomes economically viable.

As with most of the populations of the "DEVELOPED" world I am selfish & do not give a shit about a war in the middle east as long as I can fill my car with their petrol.

Yes, I would buy one, If Obama's car the Beast was converted to electric!!!! Also if and when all car's were turned into electric the price of electricity will sky rocket, And the Government will have your money one way or another.

NO - electric cars don't do well in general. Not good for long distance at highway speeds and they can't carry enough luggage to keep you in clothes.
The battery cost & life makes them very expensive.
Since the govt. is set on closing down our coal fired electric plants electricity will be very expensive in the future if it is available to the average person.
The hydrogen fuel cells and generators are the best bet right now but the oil companies are against it.
