Would you buy a 1991 used Lexus for $1000 with a suspension problem? It

OOPS sorry, I forgot to add that it has 200,000 Milage, and the Suspension problem is to correct the balance, keep car straight. So Parts will be expensive to repair huh? I am not looking for an expensive, just a ride around car but it looks so good and it runs so soft, but I can't make up my mind.
Also, The Man told me he would get the suspension fixed, for an additional 1 or 200
 
What is the mileage? Do you know what kind of suspension problem?
If you have an idea what is wrong you would have an idea of any cost involved for repairs. Rack and pinion problems could be very expensive. Struts are expensive.
You could be asking if the vehicle is worth $15-1800.00 after repairs.
Depending on the production month the vehicle is approaching 18 years old. This means it could have 216,000 plus miles. It might have 260,000 plus.
If you have are looking for a flower plant this might be expensive. If you are looking for a vehicle to drive this might be expensive. It is actually worth $ 500.00 for a parts and a junk car.
It might be different if you knew the vehicle and the service record, to include maintenance(especially oil and transmission) records.
 
You need to look up value on Kelly Blue Book and on Edmunds.com that way you can put in mileage and condition to get market value. Keep in mind that in this economy deals are to be found. You also need to know what the exact suspension problem is and call a few repair shops to know what you would pay to have it fixed. Add this amount to the $1000.00 and compare it with the market values you are finding. Any car of this age is going to continue to have problems and with a luxury car your problems will be more and more expensive. You could probably find a newer car that is american made for the same price. Then you would have less problems and cheaper to fix.
