Would she get equally offended if someone said "Whites owned slaves?"
In 1860, there were 400,000 slave owners. There were 2,000,000 Union soldiers.
There were five times as many whites involved in freeing the slaves as there were whites involved in owning slaves.
If we are going to generalize whites, we would have to say whites FREED the slaves, because far more whites were involved in freeing them than owning them.
So if someone says "Whites owned slaves," how is it different from saying "Musims attacked us on 9/11/2001?"
