My wife and I have been separated for about 5 weeks. She has taken the kids over to stay at her parents in the UK and I am stuck in Germany working. I ring her every day to speak to the kids and we always arrange what time the following day I'll call next. I'm really missing my kids (a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl) and the 5 minutes I get to chat to them is all that's keeping me sane at the minute. When we spoke yesterday she said to call between 9 and 11 this morning but I've been trying since 9 and there's no answer. Her mobile is turned off and her mums mobile is also turned off.
I probably shouldn't, but I always see the worst in any situation - why would the phones be off? Could one of the kids be hurt and in hospital? This isn't the first time she's done this to me - last time she was too hungover and couldn't be bothered. I told her then that I thought it was unacceptable and that all she had to do was send me a text to let me know that it wasn't a good time to call. I've managed to get a few days leave next week and I'm flying over to see them but that's not the point - they're my kids too. Am I asking too much here? Would anyone else be getting angry about this?
