The story is about people born with a tattoo, when they turn 14 they have to go to a school, because this tattoo means they have a power to control an element, the school is training them for war until they turn 18, when they turn 18 they go through a ritual to seal the powers in their body, they stay in school for 2 more years and learn normal school stuff.
But the main character, Layne, goes to school and falls in love with a boy named Theodore, when the school is attacked by the bad guys, she jumps infront of Theodore, taking hit and dying, she is revived but had lost her memory.
I want to name the story "Heart and Key" or something like that because during the book when she regains her memory, there's one where Theodore gives her a necklace that has a key and a heart on it so during most of the book she is after the necklace.
