Would this be a cruel Christmas joke to play on anybody, kinda?

Mostly everybody must know about gettin a lump of coal in a stockin for maybe not bein so good in the year, but

Would this be a little harsh to give a lump of coal, see their faces, then tell em if they sit on it long enough maybe they can make it a Diamond?
