Would this be a correct assessment of why people are encouraged to

disbelieve human driven climate change? If one accepts the premise that burning fossil fuels contribute to Global Warming (Climate Change) it is clear that we must use less of this energy source or face dire consequences both ecologically and economically.

But our debt driven economy can survive only if more debt is created and this requires economic growth or things will slip into reverse, Depression and Deflation and debts can no longer be collected

But we cannot have economic growth without using more and more energy. And if we curtail energy use, we have no economic growth, Deflation and Depression become the order of the day and the system collapses.

So in the interest of economic growth, the powers at be would rather drive us over a cliff for short term gain and a perpetuation of the system as long as it lasts rather than look to the long run.,

And this could also account for people like Cheney trying to tell us that oil is not a finite resource..
