I'm on the second draft of my rather long novel, and the whole time I've been working on it the main character's name has been Lucifer Skye. The book is not set on Earth; technically it is an 'alternate reality' so the names have to be believable but a bit unusual. Since I am a Wiccan, I had no idea that Lucifer was the name of the devil until a friend pointed it out. Since the names meaning fits my character perfectly, and I personally love the name, should I keep my character as Lucifer and have people think I'm satanic, or just change it?
I know it shouldn't matter that much, but for the past three and a half years while writing I've been calling him 'Lucifer' in my head and it seems awkward to think differently.
