Hello, I'm an aspiring screenwriter. Starting out, I've been advised to try out loglines (short descriptions of a movie) to see if the public would like to see the movie I'm writing. So, please read these and give your opinion.

1) Horror/comedy - A young man who starts a job at a bank and falls in love with a girl there, only to find out the bank doubles as a secret blood bank for vampires

2) Horror
 
they sound quite bog standard ideas:

2 & 3 sound like episodes of a tv drama series
4 & 5 sound like american, made-for-tv true-life stuff

1: why would a bank be a blood bank? wouldnt a blood bank make a better blood bank for vampires. especially if its got comedy in it
 
ReminRAB me of that one episode of X Files.

I'd see number one if it was in a Shaun of the Dead type vain. Number four sounRAB like it'd be good if someone like Shane Meadows did it.
 
I quite like the sound of 2 and 3.

Maybe with 3 make it that a women has some kind of near death experience, such as being violently attacked herself after which she develops psychic powers as described.
 
2,3,4 all appeal to me. Particually 4 as long as it executed properly. It's been done before but it's still affective and can make a really powerful story.

I'm an aspiring screenwriter and I'm looking to get some feedback on some of the movie ideas I have here. I have 5 "Loglines"- one sentence descriptions of potential movies.

Please tell me which ones interest you and why and also which ones DON'T interest you and why.

1) A new employee at a prestige bank struggling to fit in finRAB out it secretly trades in blood for vampires.

2) An alcoholic detective struggles to maintain his job while trying to catch an alien killer on the streets of London.

3) A young girl given a psychic gift by the spirit of her dead brother struggles to stop murders in her gang-infested neighbourhood before they happen.

4) After being continously threatened, four teenagers form a gang for
 
My order of preference would be 3, 5, 4, 2 and finally 1.

The third one interests me the most because of the potential emotional storyline that can come out of that. The girl coming to terms with the death of her brother, or coming to terms with him somehow contacting her would draw me to it.

The fourth and fifth ones interest me because there could be some interesting group dynamics in both.

The second one appeals to me because of the human interest factor as well. I think there could be an interesting struggle there between his alcoholism and his job. However, the 'alcoholic detective' is a bit of a trope and I think it'd be easy to make it too much of a cliche.

The first one doesn't interest me. The bank strikes me as too corporate or sterile an environment. The most engaging villains to me are those that I can almost connect with in some way, or understand. It's why I'm also not keen on alien villains in most shows and movies. Give me somebody who has been corrupted and who I recognise some part of myself in.

My tastes in general though are always driven by character rather than plot. Other people do differ.
