Would Teletoon work in America?

Would it?

I mean, with all the recent sucesses of Canadian cartoons on Cartoon Network (and I know it's only 5, George/Jungle, Johnny Test, Chop Socky Chooks, Total Drama Island, and 6Teen) do you think it could work. It might have to have some editing, but what do you think?

Honestly, it doesn't matter. Most of the stuff on Teletoon are either imports from Cartoon Network/Adult Swim and of the original shows they do have, most of them have aired in the US, before.

The US doesn't really need YTV or Teletoon, just like how Canada doesn't need Nick and CN.

Teletoon schedule mostly consist of :

- Original Productions (for CanCon purposes) (most of them already aired in the U.S.)
- Cartoon Network shows :p:p (Most of the Cartoon Cartoons and the recent CN toons aired on Teletoon)
- Some pre-school shows in the morning (Caillou, Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, Gerald McBoingBoing, Rescue Heroes)
- Live-Action movies on weekend

Teletoon has two hours of Looney Tunes everyday :anime:
But there's some stuff Teletoon desperately needs... like Anime.

As for The Detour / Adult Swim, The Detour consist of :

- Original Productions (for CanCon purposes) (none of the Detour original productions aired in the U.S. except Clone High and Undergrads (and I'm not sure if those really are original productions ))
- Adult Swim shows
- Fox/ABC shows (American Dad, Futurama, The Critic, Father of the Pride)
- And Live-Action movies on weekend :(

So yeah, CN and Teletoon are similar, I don't think one of them is clearly better.

Teletoon shows all episode of 6teen while here in America CN will probably skip over half of the series. And plus un edited TDI! :)
So in a way teletoon is better

Don't forget TDA.

However, a US Teletoon wouldn't work. At all. They only have a few exclusve stuff, and most of their shows are already on CN, and like I said before, it's a Canadian CN.

well Cartoon network will air all the episodes of 6teen eventually they just made the very bad choice of airing the episodes out of order. if they are only giving us a third of the episodes at a time at least give of say all of a season instead of bits from all three seasons.

Short answer: It's not happening and it's kind of redundant.

Long answer: Teletoon serves one purpose and one purpose only . . . it's Canada's cartoon network. Cartoon Network is in every country EXCEPT Canada. Teletoon airs a mix of original programming and American shows and subdivided its network in twain with The Detour (Canada's Adult Swim). Many of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network's programming are present on Teletoon/The Detour, and vice versa (though AS hasn't aired anything from Teletoon aside from The Ripping Friends).

It would be nice if other Canadian animated series to get an American home (still wondering why Being Ian, Class of the Titans, Ruby Gloom, Delilah and Julius, and Yvon of the Yukon still haven't been picked up and why qubo is still sitting on over half the run of Jacob Two-Two), but unless Corus and/or Cookie Jar are willing to create a network (and cable operators are getting choosy and fickle about channel placement these days), it's not happening.

Um, teletoon does air anime. They've ran Akira and Armitige so many times my brain has the image of armitige splattering someone's brains with a motorcycle embedded into it.

My take, yes, but only if it can keep it's lax standards. What I like about it is that I can find a bunch of kids wondering weather or not someone's a lesbian on saturday morning and what mey or may not count as outright porn in the night.
