Would switching from 20 lb test to 20lb braid affect my fishing?

Using 50 lb trilene test. I have no idea what mono or flouro is, so i can't honestly tell you what it is. Lately, i've been eying a pack of powerbro braid lately. It looks a lot thinner.

I mostly fish for bass in pretty murky water. However, occasionally i go trout fishing with the same reel.
 
the small braid like that works great for me. i can cast farther with it, but the only bad thing is that the bass can see the braid. So to solve that just buy some mono or flouro leaders.
