tires required? the ones that are on the truck now is 245 70 R17
the ones that are suppose to be on the truck is 255 70 R17
When driving between 80 and 100 on the highway, the truck vibrates.Hope someone can answer this question for me.Thanks:-)
They are new tires and the tires were on it when we bought it from the car dealer!!!
the spare tire we got with it is HUGE compared to the ones that are on the truck though...if we got a flat and was to put the spare on it would be impossible to drive with the spare tire on cause the spare is so big!!!!

The difference is pretty minimal and should not be a problem, in my opinion.
The tire width on the 245 is approx 9 5/8 inches, and on the 255 just a hair over 10 inches . That only about 3/8 of an inch difference.
On the circumference, or the distance it covers in one complete turn , the difference is less than 4%... not much.
What you should check is the weight rating of the tires...there could be a good bit of difference there.
You did not indicate what brand they are, but I suspect the dealer put on the cheapest tires he could get, even one size smaller problably means between $2-$4 per tire.. The tires may or may not have been balanced. If they were you will see grey/silver weights installed in the edge of the rim where it meets the tire. If you see no such weights on any of the tires, then there was no wheel balancing.
Some low cost tires have inherent vibrations built into them, and you can't rid yourself of that, often these tires are not perfectly round.
On that type of truck, unless you have high grade highway tires, it will have some vibration at speed in excess of 80mph.but why would you want to go faster.?
Pardon the long reply, also no intention of being patronizing miss, just helpful, hopefully.
