98 Honda Accord
So, I was driving the highway home then my car stops. The engine would turnover to start, and the car slowly loss power. I found out at the repair shop that my timing belt slipped, which bent valves, I need a new head, and more damage to the cars engine. The guy told me that the job would cost more than he thinks the car is worth. The price he charged was $2400, if I get it towed home(200 miles away) the towing company is going to charge a huge price.
My father wants to give the car away, but I love my car. Should I take it to another mechanic or just let it go and start looking for a new car?
