Would red primer ever be used under black paint?

I was the victim of a hit and run yesterday. I have a white car and was hit by a black truck. We are almost positive that we found the truck, the damage matches up,, but there is a little bit of red mixed in with the white scuffs...is there a logical reason the red might be there too?
 
Yes, any color primer can be used under black because it will cover anything up. I always use red or black primer when I paint a black car.
 
Truck was two tone paint or repainted
You can use any color primer red makes the topcoat richer(like a hearse or limo) grey more metallic
