would phoenix gold 4 gauge wires work as good as Rockford Fosgate 4gauge wires?

the phoenix ones are 40 and fosgates are 80 any suggestions
im powering a 12" type x sub with an mrp m1000 amp
to add to that i was told my sub could only be ran at 2 or 8 ohms why is this?
