Would our country be a better place if we ship our kids off to a Education

Well, i don't know from age 3 till 18, but how about if we pass a law ordering them to migrate to a different-speaking language, with only $50 buck in their pockets, and survive for 3 months? Say ...at age 17? Only for a few months, though. Just to get a taste of what real life is like.
Objective 1) Learn that the world is not ONLY the US
Objective 2) Learn the value of living frugally
Objective 3) Learn a foreign language, so they will stop telling other people with accents who know 4 languages (English plus three others), "Learn to speak English"
Objective 4) Learn about different cultures and religions. They may look back at the Fundamentalist Christian movement in the US and say: "What the f u ck are they thinking???"
Objective 5) Appreciate the freedoms and values they have at home.
Objective 6) Learn what other countries are doing right, and try to implement those improvements here.
I would sign up for passing a law like that!!!

if by "better" you mean brainwashed then yes.

We are falling behind so far educationally it's not even funny, in fact it's terrifying.
Our test scores make us the laughing stock of the free world. We go to school less than any other country from our grouping, and it SHOWS.
Your children, my children, their children are going to have to compete for jobs one day in this world, and with the education we are providing them they are going to be flipping burgers at McDonalds if we're lucky and another country hasn't found a way to automate it all with technology.
I understand that some people don't like Obama and want to stand against everything he believes but I beg people to stop and look at the information, he's right about this one, and it's not worth turning a blind eye to just out of hate for this man.
Our children need more education. The ONLY reason we have the school schedule we do is because years ago the children had to work in the fields with their parents. Those days are gone.
Being American is amazing, but it's not going to be enough to get our children the future they deserve, they are going to have to work at it, and that work starts NOW because everywhere else in the world their competition is working harder, longer, learning more and testing higher.
Education is the one thing we need to all come together on.
