would like a little help with book publishing?

me and my kids are going to design a childrens book for ourselves using there names and past experiences. The thing is i don't know how to go about getting published. There will be pictures that the kids have drawn also. Its just a little something to put in the memory box, and gives an ideal excuse to work on something as a family. Im from the uk and would be so grateful if someone could point us into the right direction. Thankyou in advance
