maitre d' station? and he stood facing your direction the entire time you were there?

I know he wasn't looking at me all the time, but it just makes me feel like I'm being stared at. I would've chosen the other side of the table if I'd known. lol! Does anyone else feel this way?
 
Absolutely. We have a local restaurant that I love. It has a big window into the kitchen. The chef always stares at me. We quit going there.
 
Yes. I'm also not comfortable to seated near/next to the bathroom, the bar or the kitchen. I prefer to have a little bit more of a private dining experience. My perfect spot would be in a corner, with my back to the wall (I'm hearing impaired, and the reduced noise from having no people behind me helps me to hear better).
