i just set up my fist aquarium today and i really want 2 purple parrot fish but i also want a pleco (i think thats what they're called... the algae eaters)
if i got all of those would that be ok?
i dont want to get too many fish especially not at one time so i want to make sure it'll be ok.

NO .... you do not want to put those fish in a tank all at the same time ESPECIALLY one that was just set up. You need to let your tank cycle. go buy some water conditioner and condition your water daily for a week then test your water. naturally they should be fine so add one of the parrots then wait another week (test the water every two days over this week) if at the end of the week your water is still good add the second parrot. but for the pleco (plecostomus) you need to wait until you have algae growing in your tank to put him in otherwise he will die of starvation. Also after you add the second parrot you need to constantly test your water to ensure their safety.

One more thing for these fish you need a large tank because the parrots grow up to 8 inches. sometimes BIGGER! and the pleco gets up to and over a foot long, sometimes two feet.

so if you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email
