im getting the "operating system not found" message upon booting and ive tried to run a diagnostic and a recovery but none of them seem to work, im a complete novice and just would like to hear your suggestions, thanks.
ok well its a sony vaio pcg-2a1m its not a laptop its a all in one desktop will that make it harder??
will this brand of computer have a straight forward hdd or a solid state hdd?
im in the uk so this model may not have come out in the united states or perhaps came out under a different name, i assure you that is the model. :)
vgc-lt2s thats the model according to sony, its no where on the computer though :) typical sony!!

I recommend you should just burn yourself an OS disk which can be mostly downloaded from torrents (piratebay). I used one for my all in one desktop and everything ran fine. Do take note all of the drivers installed in your PC because your gonna need it after reformatting.

Yeah it should be, cause there's no specific type of hard drive produced exclusively for sony vaio laptop, you just have to know to where which cable should go to and all that, it's pretty much like how you would do to a desktop computer.

"Model not recognized".
Check here for a manual.

I've seen similar Sonys and it may be a difficult job.
