Would it be better to go to college before or after the military?

I'm pretty sure it would be fine to go to college after the military, but I'm just was wondering if it would be better to go right after high school? Or do colleges prefer kids right after high school or it doesn't really matter. I am wondering because I am considering going into the military, but I also want to go to college. I know about ROTC, but I do not know if I would be the best Officer.

I have been considering Special Forces in some branch of military, but I am still unsure.
