would it be a good idea to ask for an early evaluation at work?

i work at a retail store and my hours have been cut down quite a bit, but haven't been confronted at all if i've been performing poorly or not. so i was considering of asking a brief evaluation of how i've been doing or why my hours have been cut. would this be a good idea?

and i work at Walmart if that's an issue.
