I have a criminal court case out of WA state that is 6 years old it is a possesion charge. I got bailed out then moved to a different state. Since then I have went to substance abuse programs and have completed them and have certificates of completion. I would like to take care of this matter in WA state sometime soon but I am afraid that once I go before the judge that they will give me a bunch of jail time. I have an 8 month old son now and i am married and I have completley turned my life around. Would I have to do any jail time for this charge? I can not afford a lawyer. and when I talked to one they wanted to charge me 5,000 since it is a felony. I can't be away from my son. How much jail time do you think I would have to do if any? Should I contact someone? Where do I begin since I am in a different state? I can not afford to fly up there right now also. Is there a way I can take care of it from here?
