i was told i could not enlist in the U.S. Military, because i have scoliosis. i was wondering if i achieve a professional pilot certificate could i eventually become a pilot in the military?

No...you will still have scoliosis...and the military could care less if you have an ATR. You would still start from scratch in military aviation.

Short answer, no. The flight physical is rigorous for any of the branches of the military. You pretty much have to be in perfect health. They can't risk that your scoliosis is going to cause issues in any of the events possible when fighting a war (ie escape and evasion in the event you are shot down, etc).

I would call a recruiter to be 100% sure of your eligibility but having a civilian pilots license isn't going to help (you'd still have to go through the same training as everyone else)

That is backwards. People do the military stint with the hope of becoming high-paid civilian pilots.

If they disqualified you for having severe scoliosis, than that opinion will not change due to an outside job.
