The saltwater would kill them pretty quick. I use shrimp cut up in small peices on a small hook. The shrimp will catch their eye a lot quicker cause of color. Garden worms are not part of their diet so they may not bite it too quickly. I also do pretty good using small jigs which will attract the trout sometimes as well. Just to find a color that they will like.
