Would Eureka Seven have made a good Gundam series?

This is an iffy question, I might sound stupid asking this, but would the Eureka Seven story have made a good story for a Mobile Suit Gundam series?

I don't know about the old series back in the day, but Eureka Seven morals are some what similar to the modern day Gundam series. Of course you would have to make a couple of changes, most noteably the would be Gundams, which is known as the Nirvash from a machine with a living soul or spirit to a pure machine with no life forms at all.

What do you think?

No, because one major change would be the whole later part of Eureka 7 involving Eureka and her origins.

No matter how far-fetched Newtype powers have gone, Gundam has never dealt with anything but humans vs. humans.

That is what I thought might be a major problem.

But I still think the general moral or lesson of the whole series, is very close to a Gundam series. I at least acknowledge, the creative minRAB have close to the same belief of the world.

Maybe, if the creators were daring enough to do a humans/aliens things. The only thing that would be a bother is that it's merely just an exchange of the that tawdry lovey-dovey "Renton!" "Eureka", with Gundams instead of LFOs.

Plus Eureka 7 didn't really have much action in it, which is also a big no-no if you want a Gundam series to air on television.

However, there is a difference between GOOD and BAD lovey-dovey.

Gundam X's was good, believable, yet wasn't overbearing. E7 wanted to bludgeon it into your head and became overbearing that you couldn't STAND Renton and Eureka's love for one another.

Well, I'm sorry it didn't do anything for you. I, on the other hand, LOVED IT. I'm just a big softy, so I ate that stuff all up.
The moon was the clincher.
I almost leapt to my feet in delight at that point. Besides, the 'lovey-dovey' between them doesn't get all that over the top until the two 'finales'. Yes, there was extra emphasis on their love, but in-world that was a big deal. Most of the time, inter-species relationships get waved off after a few episodes. In this series, that was the whole point.

As for Eureka Seven being a Gundam series... Hmm, I don't know. The series mythos and atmosphere seems a bit out there. There'd have to be several changes to make it work, I think.

Agreed. You may not have been able to stand it, but I ate it up and loved it. I found it sweet, cute, and heartwarming all at the same time. It's a far cry from the female characters with giant breasts, bright pink hair (I know her's is green-blueish.. ) and what not. That along with Renton and Eureka's feelings actually feeling real and deep, unlike some of the relationships in Gundam series. One I do sort of compare it to in a sense is Louise and Saji's from 00. Their relationship and love felt real, and not forced either.

Then again, I loved both couples... but I try to keep my opinions unbiased. I do admit that there were problems with both relationships, but I won't spoil Gundam 00's. Renton/Eureka's felt like love at first sight, and while I don't like love at first sight.. I do like seeing it used well in anime.

Anyway, I couldn't see E7 becoming a good Gundam series. I just wouldn't buy it.

I don't know. A surfboard-riding Gundam? Of course, we've had G, so it's not impossible for that kind of thing to be made credible.

Despite it airing on Adult Swim and my sister telling me that it's awesome, I haven't seen more than a handful of episodes yet. I've been a slacker on it. So, I can't say much about this. I will say that if you were to Gundamize it, so to speak, you would have more action and more war and you'd have to drag in outer space somehow...in other worRAB maybe E7 fans should be satisfied that it's E7, because if E7 were Gundam it might be turned into something that actually isn't E7 to begin with.

Gundam Eureka would have been infinitely better than Gundam SEED, no doubt. Renton has some potential as Gundam Protagonist, and Gekkostate and the U.F. Force could easily be retrofitted into various Gundam entities.
