I have a 30 gal tank. Currently I have guppies, a couple of platies, an african dwarf frog, 2 chinese algae eaters, and a pleco. I absolutely love the look of dwarf gourami, but I am not sure if they would be compatible with my other fish. Any suggestions/advice?

I agree with ksilver, trade in those Chinese algae eaters for two dwarf Gourami's. Those Chinese algae eaters can grow at least a foot and would not be suitable for a 30 gallon tank.

Same applies with the Pleco. Pleco's grow to be at least two feet and therefore need tanks such as 75 gallons or larger to thrive, so return your three algae eaters and get two dwarf Gourami's.

yes, get the males they are beautiful, frozen food 3 times a week.
i'd personally go for more livebearers llike swordtails as they are very hardy.

Absolutely trade in the chinese algae eaters for the dwarf gourami.

Those algae eaters will get big and hungry soon enough. Dwarf gouramis are fine with your other fish.

What kind of a pleco is it? If it's a common, it will need a bigger aquarium than a 30 gallon.
