Would cartoons gain more viewers in general in the kid sterotype lowered/went away?

Wow.

First of all, we aren't even a full decade past the '90s. I would not consider that to be "old school" compared to the whole history of animation.

Second of all, this thread is about getting rid of stereotypes. Stereotypes that will still in effect (though fortunately in lesser form than in the decades prior) in the '90s. So how is brining back '90s shows going to get rid of stereotypes?

And finally, I doubt you even read the thread and I probably shouldn't even be giving the time to analyze something which is probably spam.

Except that I believe animation would be better in general if the sterotype didn't discourage people from trying. For several reason:

1. Boomerang for one would have a chance a being basic cable. It would be no different than TVLand aside from visuals of the program.

2. There would be a chance of animation being on more networks. Heck I'd almost see G4 airing a majority of video game based toons/anime.

3. One problem with Adult Swim is that the majority of anime isn't as full of Adult content, thus could air at hours where more viewers could tune in. One example I've brought up is again Detective Conan/Case Closed. No different from shows such as Law & Order or CSI: Miami. The only reason why it would raise a stink airing earlier is because it doesn't fit the sterotypical mold of a cartoon (as far as parents are concern)

4. More cartoons for the whole family (ie, All Ages).

I'll just come out and say it. I hate how animation is considered a "Kid's Medium" it doesn't matter who is a Family Guy, where South Park is, or whatever.... it will be forever plagued with that horrible label. Which explains the heavy editing on adult animation.

But then of course, what really constitutes as "adult programming" (assuming you realize I don't mean that kind of adult programming- Chick wawa)? America's Funniest Home Videos? Just for Laughs? Survivor? Those are extremely juvenile programs to me. Laughing at some one's pain seems like the least sophisticated thing you can do.

Personally, I have no shame in admitting I watch Arthur. Mainly because the show came out 10 years too late for me, and I was heavily into those books as a child. They were always my favorite. I still watch the show whenever I hear it's a new episode. It's got a very sophisticated level of writing. They even did a parody of Kafkah's Metamorphosis in one episode.

Then of course, I bring up the Jimmy Neutron defense. A lot of the references are just so clever, that they are designed to go over a kid's head. The reference to the dog named Goddard (the scientist responsible for rocket fuel) and the Willy Loman 3000. What kid is actually going to get that one? Most kid's shows have these brilliant Bullwinkle-ian jokes that only schollars can get (It took me a history class to get the Ruby Yacht joke). And some, while not as chock full of references are just flat out fun to watch.
