Would biking help improve running?

Biking through city with uphills and downhills for an hour or more. Would that help with improving running? In your opinion which is more difficult uphill... Running, biking on smallest mountain bike gear, or walking? For downhills it's obviously most easy on a bike.

No it won't help. Cycling shortens the calf muscles, something that is required to be long in running. However, it will increase your endurance and fitness. Running uses different muscle groups to both cycling and walking and even to running on a treadmill.

In terms of which is easier, i would say that running short distances uphill is harder, except if you don't have any momentum on the bike, in which case it is very hard to start.
