Would anyone mind if The comedian Andy Parsons was squished by a lethal fat person ?

Think AP is a decent enough comedian. He makes some very good points about the way people or the government behave so idiotically. And if as 1 or 2 have mentioned, the points he makes are obvious then it clearly isn't obvious to a lot of fools out there.

Russell Howard I have never got. Not even faintly amusing.

He's a "Clever" comedian, and tells jokes which are "Clever" and is relevant to current affairs. If you want jokes which are about the most inane and trivial things watch Michael McIntyre (Spice Rack, Man Drawer).

I think most of his material is okay.
It's just that delivery of his I find incredibly irritating after a couple of minutes.

1/ Slightly raise the pitch of each sentence.
2/ Pause after each sentence.
3/ Lower pitch for punchline.
4/ Do all of the above in a nasally monotone voice.

I suppose you never can tell how funny someone will be until you experience it!

Have you seen Russell Howard? I thought he was very good, although I've seen almost every bit of his stand-up in pieces on panel shows and TV appearances since, so that shows timing is everything when going to see tours!

Good stuff. Noticed that BBC regular Miles Jupp was in that sketch ;)

I'd give Parsons credit for MtW as at least he's trying to keep wit and political satire in the show.

I watched his standup show in the background lastnight. I doubt I could sit and watch the full thing (and consider that it was only 60mins cut down from 1 1/2 hours )

I realise that he does have an annoying voice and speech pattern but I guess that's just his style and I try to overlook it for his comedy.

The thing I find more annoying is his inserting more questions and pauses into his sentences. Not sure of the correct termination for it
"They did say, didn't they, that what they meant to say, actually, was that......"

It's the added actuallys and there's a few more that he constantly uses.

On his current tour Stewart Lee
rips mock the week to shreRAB, bringing up a lot of the criticisms the MTW thread on RAB does; the tour is rehearsals for series 2 of comedy vehicle, be interesting to see if BBC2 are willing to show him burying MTW.
