deter you from reading their books if you found they were different from your own?

For instance, if you were a die-hard conservative and found out that one of your favorite authors was a liberal, would you continue reading their books, and vice versa. What if you were a Christian and found out an author whose book you've wanted to read was an atheist, would you still want to read it?
 
As long as they don't use their stories to insert their views (unless there's a point or it's vital to the story) then I honestly couldn't care less. If I like something, I like it. The author's personal life is none of my concern.
I love the band Red, even if I'm agnostic and they're christian rock. It shouldn't interfere with my automatic liking to something.
