i plan to go to denver during the summer.i plan to buy a used car worth 2,000 to denver from houston.are hondas pretty good.
i heard that the onlky thing i had to do is change the oil and thats it

Generally yes Hondas are good and reliable provided that the owners took good care of the care. But that applies to any car not just Hondas, any car will last a long time if it's taken care of. Honda's just tend to withstand the average driver abuse a bit better.

That couldn't be any farther from the truth. You will have to keep up on routine maintenance like Oil changes every 3,500 miles to 7,000 miles. Changing the transmission fluid, checking the tires, checking fluids, checking on the spark plugs from time to time and making sure they're gaped correctly, changing the coolant, changing the clutch if it's manual, cleaning engine parts, etc...

If there car runs strong, idles fine, doesn't leak, has good tires/wheels, good battery, etc....it should make the trip.

Depends on the condition of a vehicle and if it has any known problems. If there are no issues with the vehicle, then you should be safe.

a $2,000 car better be able to make the trip. but yes hondas are very reliable however i think you are taking the oil change only thing a little too literally, its a car like any other just built very well. in the end it al depends on that particular car, if you get it then you should definitely know by summer if its solid enough to make the trip or not.
