okay for people that have any idea what thewy are talking about... i have a alpine type x12 and a alpine mrp 1000 amp and the amp doesnt work anymore and i didnt think that the sub would blow it
i guess im asking why it would blow and if there is anything that can be done to fix the amp...i know enough about this stuff to understand replacing and fixing

no just as long as you set the dials right on the amp. set the gain on the amp right and you'll be set. even if its under powered itll be fine if you do it right

No, if anything your more likely to blow the type X with an 1000 watts alpine amp

Check the amp fuse.
Check the power wire fuse (by battery usually)
Make sure amp ground is connected tightly to metal chassis
Check for any connection problems like rca's and remote behind yor receiver.
You don't just blow amps. Alpine makes good amps.
I've got one of their old v power amps that has really taken a beating, and it's about 15 years old.
Works perfectly.
Hoped this helped.
