I have an older PS3, and when I bought it it could play PS2 and original PlayStation games, I did it several times. Now whenever I put in a PS2 game it won't play it. I don't have my PS3 connected to the internet, so I know I don't have the newest software update. Would doing this allow me to play my PS2 games again?

guessing you either got it at realease or few months after but yes a firmware update is what you need, this is because not all PS2 games are playable on the PS3, but at present with current firmware it should be able to play 95% of games as opposed to 50%-60%

you don't have to have your PS3 connected to the net to download the update just go to the playstation website and download the update from your computer put it on a usb or memory stick/card. It tells you how to put it on your PS3 but if your having problems email me.
