Would a set of newer chevrolet truck tail lights (03-06) work on a older model...

...chevrolet (88-98)truck? they look the same other than the fact that there square but as far as the rim where it meets your tailgate and bed, they look like they would...just figured i'd ask see if anyone else would happen to know.
 
No. The '03-'06 is a different body style. The taillights do look similar, but if you look closely the '88-'98 lights are completely square where the light meets the bed side. The '03-'06 lights have a slight angle. I think that the '03-'06 lights may also be bigger overall.
