im looking to get the rockford fosgate t10001bd and i found a refurbished one for a very good price. it has a warranty and its refurbished by the manufacturer.

would i be better off just saving up and getting a new one, or would i be okay going with the refurbished one?

I would say yes it is fine being it is from a good name brand manufacturer with a warranty . I use kicker. To me they are one of the best refurbished amps when looking to save money . i have going them directly from kicker for years.. an most of the time they replace the complete circuit board. they do have lite scratches but other than that the amp is like new...you can save up to 50% retail cost . the last 3 kx350.4 amps i got from kicker cost me $65 each . plus shipping . i bridged 2 of the and put them on 4 kicker competition 12inch subs and took the 3rd and put them on the mids and highs with a kx3 crossover they hit really hard. you can feel your teeth move ..I have less than $750 in my system and sounds better than some i have heard that cost 2 and 3 thousand dollars. I been installing for 20 years. it is clear, crisp, and hits hard .. you can play any kind of music in it and it sounds good. I have about 20 audio trophies to prove it . some from spl test and and clarity..

Theres generally nothing wrong with refurbished. they replaced anything that was broken, gave it a new shell, and it's probably just as good as the new ones, besides, comes with a warranty, right?

Yes a refurbished amp is just as good as a new one. I know for a fact companies like rockford fosgate and kicker. Completly rebuild the inside of there amps when they come back in. They do this because it is so much faster and easier to just put a whole new circuit board in, instead of troubleshooting problems. It will be just fine to buy a refurbished amp unless you want a amp with a perfect outside. That is the only thing about a refurb the use the old case so it might have a scratch or 2 But nothing serious. Hope this helps.
