Would a Kawasaki GPZ 500 be worth restricting to 33BHP?

I passed my A2 motorcycle test a little over 6 months ago, and am restricted to a motorcycle of 33bhp or less. I had a Suzuki Goose 350, but that has now died.

Is there anybody who has any experience with a restricted Kawasaki GPZ 500 that could give me a little information as to how it goes with the restrictors on.

Also, are there any suggestions as to other bikes to get. I'm looking for handling, speed, and reliablitly as I will use the bike as my daily transport to and from college (20 miles each way)

P.S - I prefer sport style bikes

The Kawasaki ER5 is a much better bet, great handling, reliable and under 33 bhp. But even better is the new Harley 48, but that's a lot at £7000 new.

Yes the GPZ 500 the ER5 and the KLE500 can all be restricted to 33 BHP.
there are restrictions both in the throttle bodies and to the carb slide height therefore the venturi size
Kits can be brought from BAT motorcycles in KENT
you'll have to get the bike certified by a garage and endorsed as being restricted,
there are still a number of restricted gpz/er/kle's already out there

Well no experience on these bike but if you restrict it then it'll probably be like the ninja 250, that can go up to 100 mph that already has just under 33 bhp and costs bout £4000, new ! and however much ur kawasaki GPZ 500 costs add about £150 to restrict it and the cost to de-restrict and in the end you get a little bit more power it's probably better to buy a 250 bike as it is sufficient enough in my opinion.
0-60mph is just over 5 secs, faster than any car for 4 grand lol and after your 33bhp restriction ends, you can upgrade and sell ninja. have a look, research on the bikes you want. I hope this helps!
