Vail in the winter? My wife and I are considering going to Vail for a ski trip this winter and are on a tight budget. The compact car class with rental cars is much cheaper than the next class up. I'm perfectly aware that a compact car would not be "ideal," as I have gone on this trip with friends before and we were able to split the cost of an SUV with 4x4, but my wife and I just cannot afford how much they are charging for an SUV. I figured with it being I-70, they do a pretty good job of keeping the roads clear anyway, unless there is a huge blizzard, in which nobody needs to be driving...haha Thanks!!
