I am a wedding videographer, and I am considering making this a surprise feature for my clients, but I do not know if this would make them feel good or disappointed.
I would create their original wedding video, making it appear to be complete. But I secretly have plenty of extra footage that they would definitely enjoy to have in their video. What I then do is create a "bonus disc" with "Never before seen footage" and surprise them with it on their 1st or 2nd (or maybe even 5th) anniversary.
On the good side the couple might like it because it may feel like a whole new experience watching their wedding video, and it may bring back more memories of the day (they may get tired of the original video at that point). On the downside they might be disappointed, and would have wanted this to be included in their original video, and wished they had this footage sooner. They might feel like they didn't get what they paid for at first...
The goal of my services as a wedding vendor is to outlast the full effect of my competing vendors, and I am trying to find ways to make my services more unique, customized, enjoyable, and memorable.
I have a wedding project coming up, and I am currently considering doing this. Your straight-forward, honest feedback is most appreciated. Thanks for your help!
